An exceptional French Louis XVI-style commode, finely crafted in mahogany and fruitwood with elaborate marquetry and parquetry, and adorned with gilt-bronze mounts. Attributed to the style of Jean-Henri Riesener, the façade showcases a pair of drawers surmounted by a gilt-bronze Minerva mask and laurel branches, leading to a central panel inlaid sans traverse with a finely rendered ewer and a basket of fruit and flowers. Below, a fleur-de-lys-studded globe is supported by crossed cornucopia and oak branches—symbols of abundance and strength. Flanking this are foliate parquetry panels topped with floral swags and allegorical putti representing Justice and Temperance. The rounded sides feature parquetry-inlaid cupboard doors, adorned with ribbon-suspended floral garlands and military trophies, completing this majestic and historically inspired design
